Based on the applications submitted, the Licenses Commission, which met in Geneva on 18th September, has announced that it has granted a four-year UCI ProTour license, from 1st January 2009 until 31st December 2012, to the following three events:
• Vattenfall Cyclassics (GER),
• Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré (FRA),
• Tour de Suisse (SUI).
These races join the events that already have a UCI ProTour licence for 2009: the Tour Down Under (AUS), the Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco (ESP), the Tour de Romandie (SUI), the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya (ESP), the Clasica Ciclista San Sebastian-San Sebastian (ESP), the Tour de Pologne (POL) and the GP Ouest France-Plouay (FRA). Other license requests are currently being studied by the Licenses Comission.
The Licenses Commission also awarded a UCI ProTour license, for the same period, to the team Garmin – Chipotle Presented by H3O (USA).
