Australian Ben Day, riding for the Fly V Australia team, stormed to a prologue time trial victory on the opening day of the Redlands Bicycle Classic in California Thursday. Day, who last weekend claimed the overall title at the three-stage San Dimas Stage Race, was the last of the men\’s starters but the first atop the classification by day\’s end. Day pipped the Jelly Belly-Kenda duo of Carter Jones and Kiel Reijnen to don the first Redlands leader\’s jersey.
